Being part of a writing community is a great way to get inspiration. Today, with no intention or plan, I suddenly found myself swept up by a poem from @nishieeta who I follow on X. Her poem is embedded above this for you to compare. My soul reacted and set me to work (okay it is play but don't tell anyone - oh crap just tell them - tell everyone!!).
Before I knew it I was creating what I call a "mirror poem", one which replies to the first poem in an almost identical layout and style. And from that I found myself creating an original music instrumental and artwork. Trust me when I say, creating with digital is not as easy as the "Luddites" would make you think. Yes you can use AI and other modern tools to create things in seconds, things which would have taken days, weeks, monthsβ perhaps never if it was not possible with the tools artists had in the olden daysβ but weirdly that does not stop the artist spending a lot of painstaking time, skill and effort on their creative work.
It has taken me almost a day of hard work for what was supposed to be a quick post taking no more than 10 minutes. That is a lot of hard work. If I asked for your help carrying bricks all day you would raise an eyebrow and if you did it you would be knackered by the end of the day. You would also probably want to some reward in the form of money. Think about it, you have spent all day working. Well this is what creators and artists like me do most of the time without any pay and often no appreciation. Hence I would urge you to always like and subscribe or follow any post that you like, because you may think that post was created in seconds but now you know that is often not the case.
