Do you feel it? That icy chill?
At the start I was healthy,
but now I'm ill.

Social media, it makes me overthink—
Yesterday, a thousand followers—
Today, all gone in a blink.

Algorithms pretend to be friends,
they like and share your post,
but lurking behind avatars,
lies an amity-horror ghost.

Their smiles hide in a digital mist,
Data rivers flow with their fishy clicks,
Promises made that never persist,
Connections vanish like magic tricks.

Trapped in a trance, I stare at the screen,
Chasing digital warmth forever unseen.
Amity, true and sincere, feels rare—
To know a real person really does care.

So I close the X app, look to the sky,
In the silence is love’s constant reply.
Amity is not just a fleeting trend—
It's the solidity of a physical friend.

"Creating is cathartic and today I just have had enough of social media. Tomorrow I will love it again. But today it all feels fake. Don't read too much into this. I am just celebrating the real world. I just wish we could meet around a real roaring campfire and chat, rather than send digital messages over a device. Also note THIS POST where I dug deeper and rewrote the poem"
