A Welsh Coddiwomple

Oh, to coddiwomple,
between green valleys,
that grow together as one.

Where burnt heather hums,
in the summer and a robin—
dances beneath white sun.

Damp sheep stand still,
like wise old men,
their fleeces flecked with dew,
As winds dance upon ancient stones,
spinning tales that echo true.

In hidden valleys many a chapel roof,
has been blessed by mossy green,
As haunting choirs fill the air—
with souls singing a forgotten dream.

A railway curves, a silver thread,
through hills that softly creep,
And underneath gorse-clad slopes,
streams flow as dark clouds weep.

Oh, coddiwomple forevermore,
never ask when the journey shall end,
For every trail that scars Wales, my dear,
is where life and death transcend.

'B' VERSION! OR SHOULD IT BE 'A'?

This is again one of those creations that came out of the blue thanks to a prompt for a regular poetry competition by @BattleBorn, the word, as if you haven't guessed, was "Coddiwomple". It means:

"To travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination."

And boy did it send my soul travelling through Wales. Wonderful experience. I just hope the poem does the Welsh landscape justice.

As you know I create songs with AI and then edit them manually. Every now and again AI does this to me! What is "THIS" - it gives me two great songs back to back which I cannot decide between.

A lot of the time the songs are complete rubbish, and at my expense I have to keep going. Sometimes I find one, but rarely do I find two that I think do my poem / lyrics justice. I think these did. But what do you say? Let me know in the X comments. Chat soon....
