80s Romantic

I was romantic once - but then I met this girl,
She spun me her story which took a while to unfurl....

I soon noticed that her eyes were often looking elsewhere,
Whenever we passed other people she'd often stop and stare....
And that's when I realized she was not really that in to me,
But my kind romantic nature would never set me free....

Then I took her to Paris to see all of the wonderful sights,
The romantic night time walks, the Seine with all its colorful lights....
And then something happened when I saw a deceptively attractive guy,
He bumped into my shoulder, smiled, instead of angry - I felt shy.
My girlfriend pouted, smiled but he carried on looking at me....
And that's when I knew he was the one who would set me free....
